Technical Schemes and Assurance Manager – BAFE Fire Safety Register
Ken is a well-known and respected individual within the fire safety industry and has over 35 years of experience in which time he has been involved in bringing new technologies to the industry.

His fire industry journey began with wireless fire detection and alarm technology when BS 5839-1 only had one paragraph relating to wireless fire detection. Working with the FIA and BRE he was heavily involved in growth of the technology from a standards point of view, including being a leader in the writing of EN54-25 where he became the UK principal expert on the CEN working group. As the wireless technology became part of everyday fire systems, his role with industry stakeholders meant him getting involved with all the automatic fire and detection standards.

Prior to Ken joining the BAFE team in the role as Technical Schemes and Assurance Manager, his latest role has seen him as a thought leader within the industry on BS 8629 (design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of evacuation alert systems), working with stakeholders to improve the standard and market understanding.
